Selected experimental and past works
Pollocking About
From the first time I saw it, the work of Jackson Pollock had a great effect upon me. The work drew me in. I have been fortunate enough to see many of the artists works close-up and personal. The scale, the energy and the tumult of the works are incredible every time.
The image captured is an extract from a larger experimental work inspired by Pollock.

Colours Humming
This is an older work that considered colour and colour mixing. Created in oils and using a comb to give depth and texture, this work is a much earlier example of themes that I have returned to regularly over time.

Steer Head Light Sculpture, 2020
I brought a steer’s head back from the US desert in 1995. It has become a recurring motif throughout my work.

With due respect to Julian Opie.
Family portraits painted in his style. I like Opie’s simplicity - his ability to distill right down to the simplest form. While these works are ‘cartoon-like’ they are not caricature.
